Ranveer's Rambles

Sometimes it doesn't make sense, but that's the best part.
It started with a few stories but now I mostly question what we see everyday and think of normal.

Pointless

When I think to myself, which is quite often, I think about how pointless humanity can be. Not because they do completely useless things or because they waste time doing absolutely nothing and just waiting for the seconds to tick by. I find it pointless because when there is something that they must do or think about, or when they do have the “point” not only do they ignore but they go as far from it as possible, they do anything that they can to make sure that it seems as if the point did not concern them at all and it was nothing that they were meant to worry about. It always turns out to be the other way around though, it is always the same point they are ignoring that is actually the one point that is what they had to take care of. Yet I guess it is pointless to expect humanity from humans as well.

Just imagine, you are just roaming around in a huge shopping mall, with people and shops everywhere around you. There is nothing that is concerning you at the moment except for the high-priced shoes you can’t afford. Now as you are walking across this mall, you realise that it’s starting to collapse in on itself, as you begin running towards the gate, you realise that you might not make it out in time, so you stop thinking and continue running towards the exit. As you move towards the exit your footsteps get heavier and it feels as if everything is falling towards you at a much faster rate. Intrusive thoughts of injury and even not making it out at all burst into your mind as if at this moment your life is about to flash before your eyes.

As you begin to reach the nearest exit you have been wanting to reach all this while, you realise that there are firemen that have come to the rescue. They have helped many others outside. You look right into the eyes of a fireman and you realise that they are looking right back at you. Your eyes fill with hope that maybe this time you are carried out of the building with barely a scratch to your skin anywhere at all. Yet you realise that the eyes of the fireman do not show that possibility. At that time he feels as if there is no possibility that he can save you. So bam right then and there he steps out with everyone else leaving the door closed on you. As you move closer to the door the entire ceiling collapses on you.

Now as you lay there in the rubble, with all the debris breaking bones in your body you wouldn’t even know the name of. You realise that the fireman knew this ceiling would fall and hence decided to retract from the building, yet that’s not what is hurting you. The broken bones and 100s of tones of broken cement laying all over you are only a fraction of what pains you. What hurt you was that the fireman did not try to save you at this time. In your mind, you would have thought that the entire job of the fireman was to save everyone in the building, yet he did not save you. For him, it was simply not his fault because this ceiling would have fallen and crushed you anyway. Maybe it was your fault, maybe you shouldn’t have expected to be saved.
